How to get to Charlottesville

Charlottesville is serviced by air, train and bus. The airport is about 15 miles from the High Energy Physics Lab, about a $35 taxi fare. If one doesn't wish to fly directly to Charlottesville, which almost always means an extra connection, and a flight on a small turboprop airplane, then Washington-Dulles is a two-hour drive (110 miles) and Richmond is an hour and fifteen minute drive (80 miles). I prefer Richmond as the airport is much more convenient and there is never traffic. For all sorts of travel information click here.
